The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is an all volunteer, uniformed organization in support of the United States Coast Guard. Formed by an Act of Congress in 1939, the Coast Guard Auxiliary now has over 30,000 members and provides a multiple of non-military, non-law enforcement missions for the Coast Guard.
CG Auxiliary missions include:
- Safety Patrols
- Free Vessel Safety Examinations
- Facilitating Boating Safety Classes
- Public Education Classes
- Sea Scout Ship 2602 Sponsorship
- Provide Boating Safety Information to Marinas and other Public Areas
- Recreational Boating Safety information at Public Information Booths
- Speakers on a wide variety of boating-related topics.
- Aviation Unit which supports the air mission of the Coast Guard.
